Fortnite x Nike

2024

The collaboration between Fortnite and Nike—a gaming juggernaut, and an iconic sportswear brand—set us up for a ripe creative sandbox to play in. Together with Nike, we created an immersive world of storytelling worth getting lost in.

We took the initial in-game framework from the Nike team and built out bespoke 3D assets that added depth to the game experience: sports references, throwback graphics, and Nike easter eggs galore.

strategic storytelling and creative engineering gave rise to a fully immersive multiverse.

Jumping from the game to a campaign you can’t miss

The gameplay was bookended with 3D animation that introduced the story of Max, the mad scientist bubble boy. Meister created models, textures, game animations and integrated them all into the game with our in-house developers and artists.

After helping to create the in-game universe, the team at Meister set about to creating campaign assets to enable the creation of a 360 campaign. We created buzzy social video assets to generate hype for the game and call users into the world of Airphoria.

More than a marketing video

Our initial touchpoint to this project was through the creation of a marketing video meant to promote an in-game quest. We utilized Unreal Software to animate Max, the bubble boy in the Airphoria Dn Dimension, and created a story around him being split apart and then calling for players to track him down in-game.

The Nike team referred to the final product as “a work of art”, and ended up finding more opportunities for our team to collaborate with them in building out the Airphoria Dimension.

A peek behind the scenes at Max’s lab

Eventually, we concepted, modeled, and developed entire Fortnite levels that were included in the final launch. With every model, texture, and environment, we looked for opportunities to build out the world of Max and sneak in easter eggs for Nike Air superfans.

"Meister's work on Airphoria Vol. 2 helped create an immersive world of storytelling worth getting lost in."
