Meta Tutorials

2023

How do you build a ‘how to’ guide for an asset that hasn’t yet been explained to anyone? Meister worked alongside Meta technical artists to create 80 unique animations, with 200 variations for newly released or upcoming headsets.

With emerging Meta VR/AR technology, Meister found solutions for how to interact with new realities. And as this technology grew, our knowledge of what a ‘good’ tutorial was grew with it.

WHEN TUTORIALS IMPROVE PRODUCTS

Introducing an entire line of the Meta Quest

Meister was integral in creating the software that showed the public how to use the Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, and Meta Quest Pro. The videos needed to be intuitive, teaching people as they went deeper into their experience.

A scalable product demo ecosystem

The challenge was how to recreate the same action or motion across completely different hardware sets. The solution: systems thinking blended with a highly responsive, adaptive approach to accommodate different features across products.

Engineering, Evolved.

After seeing the videos, Meta's engineering team would often retool how certain features worked or behaved. Quick turnarounds on new renders allowed them to prototype features more easily than before.

We learned how their team worked, asking better questions about technical limitations with each round. Together, we created a new method of iterative prototyping AR/VR software.

Two worlds, one reality.

The videos had the heavy lifting of needing to bridge the gap between virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR). Whether showcasing the shift between using hands versus controls, or the shift in perspective from the user, our stylizing of content had to create visual paradigms for new and emerging concepts.
